Anyone who knows me knows I am a country freak! Half of the time I don’t know the music playing in the mall or at the bar because all I listen to is country tunes. Therefore, the CMA’s are one of my favorite award shows of the year. I love seeing my favorite artist dress up, perform and receive awards for their brilliant work.
Like past awards, this year was hosted by Brad Paisley and the goddess of country music Carrie Underwood. Here are my favorite looks of the night:
Kimberly Williams-Paisley: Co-host Brad Paisley’s wife Kimberly rocked the red carpet. She has become even more beautiful since her days on “According to Jim” and she proved just how great she looks at the CMA red carpet. Her dress is fun and glamorous, her hair pulled back is perfect and she wore just the right amount of jewellery!
Kimberly Perry: 1/ of the Band Perry, Kimberly looked amazing at the CMA’s! Her dress fit her beautifully, it was so pretty and she looked so soft and elegant. I love the hint of color in her pink lipstick- love!
The Henningsens: The group looked great on the red carpet- very put together and classy.
Lucy Hale: I have been anxiously awaiting the Pretty Little Liar’s stars country album that should be released next year. She proved to be up there with the country goddesses in this amazing flowy, blush dress. Her dark hair and features against this dress really pop and I love her necklace!
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert: I had some trouble deciding if I wanted this pair on my best dressed list. Blake looks great, and Miranda’s hair and makeup are beautiful, and that color of blue looks amazing on her!! But, the dress was a little prom-y for me. I would have loved it if it was a solid blue instead of all the sequined detailing. Never the less, this pair looked awesome!
Hunter Hayes: The young country star definitely knows how to dress. Hunter looked great on the red carpet!
Luke Bryan and Caroline Boyer: The dreamy country star and his wife looked unreal on the CMA red carpet. I loved his mix matched suit and her dress. My only criticism was that I wish Caroline hadn’t worn that chunky necklace. It is too over powering with the dress and her small frame. She would have nailed it with nothing on her neck!
Lady Antebellum: One of my favorite country groups! The trio looked great- a mix of Gatsby and Hollywood. Can you believe Hillary Scott just gave birth?! She looks amazing!
Kellie Pickler: Love, love, love Kellie’s old Hollywood glam look. That dress is to die for and I am loving her hair. Best dressed of the night!
Jana Kramer: My other best dressed. I am obsessed with Jana’s entire look from the evening. Her simple, yet romantic, yet glamorous dress is AMAZING. I love the simple black top with flowy, flowely bottom. I also am in love with her ombre hair- she looks perfect for the event! I may go buy this outfit now.
Karen Fairchild: Karen nailed it. She looks simple, beautiful and classic. I love the shape of this dress!
Eric Church: I love Eric Church. It’s hard for me to think he looks bad in anything. *Sigh*
Rachel Smith: I am sure it is evident by now that I love lace. This red lace gown that Rachel Smith wore at the CMA’s is no exception. I love everything about it!
Love and Theft: I love this bad boy look that the group has going on. I especially love when they wear awesome clothes that doesn’t really seem “bad boy”, like vests. Yum!
Now…for the ultimate Country Starlet! The co-host of the CMA’s Carrie Underwood had NINE different costume changes!! These were my favorite!
1) Love her hair, her dress, the color, the sheer.
2) So wrong to have those legs. Killer. I love the girly aspects of this dress and I love how it is very haute couture in it’s shape.
3) I like how she didn’t wear a dress for the entire show. Which is unexpected yet works because Country music is very relaxed. This 60’s inspired outfit looks amazing on Carrie! Those pants are too cool.
4) All I can see are her amazing legs. Enough said.
5) I love this retro dress with the color blocks. You can’t tell at first glance but she actually shows a lot of skin in the front of this dress. She just does it so tastefully you don’t see it!
6) How fun is her hippie look!? Totally love it! I want that headband!
7) I love the structure of this dress. I feel like Carrie borrowed it from JLO’s closet. It is kind of like she is going to battle- love it.
8 This silver gown is very Carrie- she looks stunning.
Who do you think was best dressed at the CMA awards?!
